Twitter power, welcome to Miami!
Springwise reports of an original crowdsourcing social shopping initiave. Weird but true, there is no direct flight from Amsterdam to Miami, so DJs, promoters, label reps and ‘professional party people’ from the Netherlands have persuaded Dutch airline KLM to add an extra flight to its roster. They set up a bet with the carrier: if Fly2Miami could get 351 seats reserved before December 6th, KLM would add a flight to its schedule on 21 March 2011, specifically for people attending the Ultra Music Festival.
The call to book has been launched and boosted via Twitter and Fly2Miami managed to fill the seats in less than six hours. An amazing result I would say, and a great inspiration for brands selling online.
