Xmas is here (already) part 1

on November 18, 2012 by Martina Comments

Jingle Bells, Jingle bells, let the Christmas marketing begin… Commercials start popping up on air and online generating in me tons of contrasting feelings and reactions. Some TVC will almost make you cry, some others will make you laugh, a few can make you sick.

It’s a big business but, after all, as the Morrisons’ commercial brilliantly points out, it’s Christmas… and you wouldn’t have it any other way, and advertising, indeed is included in the deal. Read more…

You are blind

on October 30, 2012 by Martina Comments

Blind people don’t have an easy life. But in some countries their lives are more difficult than in others. Russia, unfortunately, is one of those places where the society still treats blind people like disabled who can do nothing without help. To raise awareness around the problem and, most of all, to come up with solutions to solve it, the charity association “The right to smile” together with the agency Hungry Boys, launched a project targeted at the creative community. Personalized envelopes containing a blindfold were sent to creative directors of leading advertising agencies and chief editors of major media. The call to action encouraged the recipients to put the blindfold on, and experience what being blind means, by trying to do simple things, like making tea, a phone call or even just try to move around the office. Time-lapse for a reason

on October 29, 2012 by Martina Comments

Every week, if not more often, a new time-lapse video is released on Vimeo and picked up by bloggers like us. As I already confessed several times, I love the technique, which becomes even more fascinating when combined with tilt shift treatments. But this is where the problem sits. Trident’s Bohemian Rhapsody

on October 29, 2012 by Martina Comments

I like chewing gum advertising, because the product is by nature so dull and impossible to differentiate that advertising becomes the key to its success. And sense of humor is 99% of the times the key to grab consumers’ attention and get them to chew more and chew better. The latest TVC for Trident’s Fresh is beautifully shot, mildly surprising and quite entertaining, three ingredients that mixed together guarantee any campaign an honorable mention here on Adverblog, even if the bold choice of Bohemian Rhapsody as sound track might horrify the Queen’s (and Wayne’s World) hardcore fans.
