Framfab acquires Oyster

Framfab has probably become the UK largest interactive full service business following the acquisition last week of Oyster Partners. Both companies have competed in the UK market for several years. Now operations in Oyster and Framfab UK will be fully integrated following the acquisition.

Lost Boys acquire DAD

DAD, probably the top Belgian agency has become part of the Lost Boys network. DAD is being sold by Belgacom, its majority owner since 1997. Belgacom had a 85% share in DAD. The acquisition of DAD will be completed with a combination of cash and shares. With this acquisition, Lost Boys are going rule the Belgian online advertising market, as Robert Pickering, CEO of LB Icon confirms: “Combined with our other Belgian subsidiary Winsome, acquired in March 2004, we now are the no.1 player in the Belgian market for digital marketing and technology solutions“.

Yahoo! Europe appoints OgilvyOne

Yahoo! Europe has appointed OgilvyOne Worldwide to create interactive campaigns in order to promote Yahoo!’s image and services through France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Netimperative reports also Maher Bird Associates (MBA) has been selected as Trade Marketing agency for Europe. Yahoo UK & Ireland will still rely on existing agencies such as Poek, Naked and Splendid.

One in, one out for I-Level

UK agency I-Level has recently won the digital media account with mobile operator Orange. I-Level was already working with British Telecom, which represents an Orange’s competitor, therefore the agency had to say someone goodbye. Netimperative reports BT and I-Level have agreed to end their agreement within three months, as soon as the ongoing activity will be terminated.

In Europe LG picks Euro RSCG and Starcom

LG Electronics Europe has announced chosen Euro RSCG (for creativity) and Starcom (for planning) to manage its advertising in Europe. LG opened its headquarters in Europe last year, and the decision to select specific agencies for Europe confirms their plans to further expand o the market. Euro RSCG London won the account leaving behind Y&R, Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett, while Starcom succeeded over Mindshare, Carat und Universal McCanns.

Top online planners in France

Check out Le Journal du Net today to find out who manages the online advertising money in France. SNCF’s budget for, example, is managed by Publicis, MPG Media Contacts takes care of France Telecom, Orange, Wanadoo and Citroen, while Carat Interactive plans for SFR, Renault, Bouygues Telecom, Gaz de France, AOL and Philips.

Two campaigns for Olà

Italian ISP Tin.it has launched an online campaign to promote its new ADSL offer. The creativity is by Olà, the planning is by Media Italia, with dhtml, screen-ad, pop-under and banners running among the others on Virgilio.it, Msn and Mtv. Earlier this month Olà has also created a series of ads for the online bank Fineco, running on the main Italian portals since February 14. The online efforts supports a multi-channel campaign with Tv spots, print and radio ads.

Dan Watson will guide the European strategy team at MSN. Lianne Heite has joined as Dutch agency Bookmark coming from an experience at TBWA\Interaction. Carol Potter will be in charge of leading Unilever’s account unit at JWT Worldwide. Frank Leprou has been named General Director at Fnac.com. AKQA has hired PJ Pereira, the Brazilian who is to head the cyber jury at this year’s Cannes International Advertising Festival. He will join the San Francisco office as executive creative director.

Following the depart of Danny Meadows-Klue, the IAB UK has appointed Guy Phillipson as new CEO. Phillipson, who looks like Hugh Grant’s brother, has been head of advertising at Vodafone since 1999. Yahoo France has named Carole Dubourg-Touati Sales Director. She comes from a similar experience at Canal PLus. Martin Schultz has been named new marketing manager at MSN Denmark. J�rgen R�sger Vice President Interactive Marketing at AOL Germany will leave the Company at the end of April.
