In the UK Virgin Mobile has launched an online campaign which allows users to pick their favourite ringtone directly from the ad. They can listen to the ringtone and then text a number to receive it, without visiting a Web site.
Digital Media Communications has just released a new online buzz campaign called “Red Academy” for Virgin Mobile. The campaign features a digital film clip called ‘Friends’ that pokes fun at the Orange campaign by introducing viewers to the Virgin Mobile ‘Red Academy’ and its childlike Machiavellian character Damien who compels naive trainees to “forget phone functions and simply phone friends”. As reported today in Mobile Youth newsletter, recently Virgin Mobile has announced that it has reached 3,000,000 customers, confirming its position as the fastest growing network ever seen in Britain.
As Brand Republic reports today, Virgin Mobile has created a new controversial viral campaign that includes “mangina” scene that was deemed too saucy for television. However the campaign can be watched online following this link. I saw it and I believe it’s a quite strong ad, if they wanted people to talk about it, I’m sure they’re gonna reach the goal.
