The Emotional Breakdown

Like so many good ideas, this piece is astonishingly simple. A site uses facial recognition to detect the mood of people in photos. In particular it uses the photographs of The Guardian’s 24 Hours in Pictures to create these graphic breakdowns.

The Emotional Breakdown is an experimental visualization based on the photo feed of the Guardian’s top news stories
