Let's begin the week with the right boost of inspiration. I know all your eyes are on the Cannes Lions, but don't forget to share the best piece of digital work you've last week. Tweet it and tag it #interactivemonday.
Mine, I know, it's quite obvious, but it was really a first in mixing Twitter and advertising. Get inspired, but please don't start creating each single banner with a Twitter feed (btw Nestle has already done that as well - see Revolution Magazine)
"Twitch", one of the most adorables characters i've ever seen on a website, stars this fantastic microsite done by Unit9 and Helpful Strangers for the Museum of Science and Industry of Chicago to teach children physics in a fun and engaging way. But it's hard not to enjoy even not being children anymore.
On the 30th and 31st of March I will be in Paris for the Marketing 2.0 Conference. I'm very happy and honored to have been invited to join the panel on "How Brands integrate Social Media into Marketing Strategy and Daily Business?! Maintaining Relationships to Improve ROI".
The entire event sounds extremely promising, full of interesting people to meet and listen to. I strongly recommend you to attend. In case you are in Paris, would be nice to meet for a drink on Monday night. Drop me a line at martina @ adverblog. com.
You have something to say to the President of the United States? Then you can upload your video to Dear Mr. President, a nice action coming from Pepsi and R/GA.
Last summer my friends Pit and Efrain sent me a link describing a strange experiment from the group Pop Levi using videos from YouTube for their single "Semi Babe".
You had to open both videos (each one of them featuring members of the group, one playing keyboards, the other one playing guitar and singing) in different browser windows and then resizing these to make both videos appear as one.
Don't worry, this is post is not to announce the end of Adverblog! I just couldn't find a better title to present you with a book and a photo collection on Flickr dedicated to opening and closing titles in the movies.
The book is called Uncredited Graphic Design and Opening Titles and it showcases the work of designers and typographic artists in the first frames of the most successful movies.
On Flickr instead, you can find a collection of almost 150 closing titles.
None of the two links I've shared is very interactive, but I believe they both could fit the random creative inspiration section ;-)
Over the years we've seen a lot of great interactive cases come by on Adverblog. But the case I'm about to show you is definitely the best one ever. It's entertaining and interactive in many ways, it's got a very natural flow and it even touches your emotions while engaging. And this is just the 1.0 version; imagine the possibilities when developed further and further.
I don't know why but i've spent the last two days watching these puppies through a live webcam, as well as the other 23.000 people watching them at the same time... even full-screen size... also, it's really funny the variation in the number of users depending on the puppies being on screen or not
I guess there must be an advertising lesson somewhere in this content... or is it just that they are adorable... ? Whatever, it would very interesting the exposure that a brand would get if they appeared somewhere on the screen... or is this the kind of thing that being sponsored is not worthy anymore?
To celebrate's it's 30 year anniversary, Diesel throw's a Dirty 30 party in 17 cities around the world. To promote the party, a 70's style porn movie has been re-edited into.. well, see for yourself :)
update:Other then many among us, YouTube doesn't like the video and is removing all copies due to 'terms of use violantion', probably because of adult content :)
