Greenpeace vs Unilever

April 22, 2008 at 4:15 by Mark Comments

Greenpeace just released an interesting spoof on the popular Dove Onslaught commercial. (on)Slaughter reminds us that “Unilever, the makers of Dove beauty products, are buying palm oil from suppliers who destroy Indonesia’s rainforests.” Read here what Greenpeace has to say about Unilever.

Update: There is also a Dutch version available

Any idea which agency did it?

Works very well as a name and shamer. It’s also works seeing a call-to-action that gets you to talk to someone else other than the advertiser. Dove purchases on hold for now then.

Makes you think about buying certain products and that’s how it should be! Great! Want to see more of that kind.

Any time a company (like Dove) takes a step in the right direction, trying to at least right one of their wrongs, they get reamed by every annoying special interest group out there. If they do nothing and continue their heartless corporate mentality, nobody pays any attention. Is there something wrong with this?
