National Geographic: Remember 911

Few world events really stick in our collective memory, like the moon landing, the Fall of the Berlin Wall and September 11, 2001. As the 10th anniversary of the attack nears, National Geographic is asking its Facebook audience: “Where were you?”. Your personal story is placed on a map and additionally shared on your wall.

In the lead up to this day, National Geographic will show documentaries and interviews on 911 which you can see excerpts of here. I am sure there will be more interactive work commemorating the events. The real emotional draw of this map of stories will come when more users share their memories and you can read how your close friends remember and think of 9/11.
