You LOL, you lose

British flavoured milk brand Frijj (pronounced ‘fridge’) introduce us to a new web sport: keep a straight face while watching LOL videos. The site exposes you to a range of videos, ranging from cute to fail to painful. Using face tracking it registers your reactions, so you better suppress your giggles. As the title suggest, as soon as you smile the stream ends and you are out of the game.

Most of the videos fall into the “Funniest Home Video” genre (babies, animals and fat people falling off stuff). But there are the occasional gems. And I liked that you get a snapshot of your LOL and a dynamic score-FB/Tweet when the game ends. Play the game here.

Frijj and their agency Iris argues that their game helps you build up your tolerance to the unexpected, so their new flavours don’t knock you over.

And if you are after some more face tracking, here are two more sites that recently launched with similar technologies: Samsung’s Stare Battle by Dutch agency Muse and CC’s Stare Challenge by Australian agency Pusher.
