The T-Mobile’s Candid Camera

September 20, 2011 at 4:46 by Martina Comments

T-Mobile is out with a new unconventional campaign. Once again, more than the offline action itself, it’s the TVC like a “recap” video of the action that is aimed to generate word of mouth and awareness.

The concept to communicate here is pretty straightforward. Nobody likes nasty surprises when it comes to telephone bills. Same on the streets, nobody likes to receive an unexpected, unfair ticket, as a candid camera kind of action clearly shows.

Consumers from spectators become actors. An offline activation becomes a TV spot. I must say T-Mobile proves once again very good in creating content worth talking about.

However, in this case, according to the comments on Youtube, the idea isn’t very creative after all, it is still generating a good buzz online. What do you think? Have they gone too far copying the idea of Beardyman and Klumzy Tung? Will the negative effect be bigger than the positive buzz?
