Reverse pitch process

I find this proactive approach to new business by Fantasy Interactive (Fi) very interesting. Most pitches are called by clients, asking the agency to present a vision for the brand or business.   Fi have flipped the situation.  They’ve simply published a vision for how the travel & aviation sector could be improved online.

What I like is that they have then sent a tweet to airline companies, inviting them to take a look.

I asked David Martin the CEO and founder (who incidentally is a pilot and aviation enthusiast) to describe the approach :

Sometimes we see the most creative solutions arise within the most challenging problems. We are enormously charged by working together to disrupt a vertical we believe could yield such a dramatic result. Travel in general is a vertical we feel has mass appeal online, on the go and offline. Travel is inspiring, it’s a utility, it’s a privilege. We want to make a difference. And sometimes you just gotta go out there and do it yourself. This concept is a conversation starter. It’s only potential. David Martin, CEO & Founder,

We’ve written about open conversations before, but this is the first time I’ve seen it used for new business. I’ll be interested to see if any airlines reply.
