Greenpeace, play and save the world

I like usually enjoy videogames, I said I followed the CyberLions but I really don't understand why I found out about Greenpeace - WeAtheR only today (maybe because their PR agency dropped me an email? ;-). After this silly premise, let's get serious and explore the advergame that looks like one of the best Flash projects of the year.

Greenpeace Weather is a strategy multiplayer game on which players become activists to fight against the climate changes. Their mission is to join other activists to solve environmental crises that affect the planet using cooperation and coordination.

Developed also as a real game, made on recycled paper and recycled wood, soon it will be distributed in schools around Brazil.

Let's start from the basics... first of, visuals are lovely, starting from the recycled paper background of the site. Secondly, the background music reminds of the ultra famous Civilization (a killer for your mental sanity though!). Third, it's great that in a game that isn't very simple to play, the first thing you find when the page loads is an animated explanation of the game goals and mechanisms.

Of course (nobody is perfect!) the game has also some downsides: for example, apparently it works only in multiplayer, which means that you might have to wait for sometime before being able to actually start playing.

If you're lazy, or simply doesn't feel like playing, there is even a video that explains you everything.

Kudos to of Almap BBDPO and Colmeia!
