KFC launches Hunger Strike

August 16, 2007 at 2:40 by Martina Comments

Another pretty nice advergame if you don’t feel like working in this hot summer afternoon… it comes from the UK and it has been developed by Naked Penguin Boy to complement the TV advertising campaign in which KFC promotes the new huge meal the Big Daddy Box Meal.

As Casper explained me, Hunger Strike is a strategy game à la Tower Defender. I gave it a try, and I must say it’s quite nice to play, even if you have to overcome the first 2 minutes to start having fun with it. At the beginning it looks boring, but the tougher it becomes, the funnier it gets.

The graphic is nice, as it illustrates the path of the hunger from the belly to your brain… and yes, that’s also your goal in the game, avoid that the hunger reaches your brain and starts asking for attention…

This is a great way to use experimental marketing with a brand. By using technology brands can connect with the consumer for a small amount of money. KFC offered a game, which would still promote their company and menu and would remind consumers of the brand.
It is a novel way of connecting with the consumer and promote the brand through a soft sell approach. Well done KFC.
I really want a big daddy meal now.
