Digital advertising and marketing: only the best ideas worldwide, since 2003

Kit Kat explodes TVC on Youtube

February 1, 2011 at 10:39 by Martina comments

Neither the quality of the execution nor the creativity are top, but I appreciate Kit Kat’s idea of coming up with an online adverting campaign on Youtube that connects and literally “explodes” the TVC. It’s a quite obvious idea to surely keep in mind and possibly execute better :-)
You can watch the Tv spot below and then visit the Youtube page to see what happens.

very poor execution, if you ask me. And the idea: deconstructing/destroying the youtube page is rather old. Must be at least the third time in 3 years that I have seen that…

Execution aside, the fake spot in the overlay has over 3m views. A quick glance at the Kit Kat YT channel reveals a paucity of channel views, upload views and channel subscriptions - despite being on there since 2005. How can you get it so wrong for so long?

  3. Andrew says:

I can’t view it, as it claims to be a “private” video requiring an invitation to be able to see it … hardly clever “advertising”!
