A Creative Catharsis

Ireland’s creative community got together to release a lot of pent up anger and sadness through the medium of the A3 poster, all in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital. Ad creatives, designers, animators, directors, illustrators and more took time out to dress up their favourite worst feedback from clients, transforming quotes that would normally give you a twitch, into a diverse collection of posters.  Read more…

Metro: Dumb ways to die

Trains are dangerous things. And if you’re not careful around them, you could end up dying in the dumbest way possible. That’s the message behind a new ad campaign for Melbourne, Australia’s Metro Trains. They’ve tapped a local artist to record a catchy little tune and set it too the cutest little death animations you’ll ever see. Chrome’s 100,000 stars project

This is pretty mind blowing. Google Chrome’s new experiment conquers the galaxy. 100,00 Stars is an interactive visualization of the stellar neighborhood created for the Google Chrome web browser. It includes real location data of over 100,000 nearby stars, including 87 major named stars and our solar system.

Windows 8 Prank

One of the coolest things about Windows 8 are the Live Tiles. Microsoft thinks so too so they created a prank that involved a light up floor tile (think Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean) and a collapsing wall. Probably set-up but fun anyway by McCann Oslo and via Gizmodo

Aussies LOVE cricket. Vodafone Australia has launched a new campaign for cricket lovers across the nation. Go to the site and order a ‘book’ or download a cover for a book and you instantly have a cover for your mobile phone to ‘pretend’ you are doing something super useful, when in fact you are actually watching the cricket.
