Advertising awards and shiny trinkets with your name on them are one the best ways to create a name for yourself in the advertising business. The problem is submitting creative work to award shows is expensive. Okay if your agency is paying, but what about creative’s personal projects or the young bucks straight out of ad school? We’re not talking scam or case studies. We are talking about those smart, no budget campaigns or brilliant side projects. With the Cannes Lions festival just around the corner The Gunn Report is getting everyone in the creative mood by running a sweepstakes on the potential film winners. The Gunn Report has selected 20 films which they think are in with a chance of picking up a Lion.
UK online magazine Netimperative has launched a viral campaign to promote its digital awards “The Imperatives”. Created by Skive Creative, the viral quiz enables users to determine what kind of awards attendee they are. The awards will be assigned in London at the end of March (the deadline for entries is January 27th).
It’s a golden period for the Chilean agency CyberCenter. As La Segunda reports, they have recently won the ‘Best Website Design’ at the New York Advertising Festival, and a couple of days ago they triumphed at Creativos Online 2003. In the competition organized by the Asociaci�n de Medios en Internet (AMI), CyberCenter has won the first prize in the following categories: Pop-up, mailing list and mini-site.
… Coca Cola Light W&V reports today the results of the German award Konvergenz 2003. The agencies behind the Coca Cola Light campaign are Publicis, Argonauten 360 and Magic Response. The award has been assigned for the innovative and courageous use of the Web. The silver medal went to Sony Computer Entertainment for the campaign “Playstation – this is 2003″ by Akzio and TBWA, while the bronze has been assigned to AUDI with “The OTHER side OF the Road” developed by Philipp & Keuntje and Saatchi & Saatchi.
Nike dominated this year’s Cyber Lions Adage winning seven Lions for work in four different countries. “If this continues, this is going to become the Nike festival, at least on the cyber side” remarked Cyber jury president Marco Tinelli of Paris agency FullSIX.
